We live in Burlington, retired seniors. We have a 4-level backsplit. Safe neighbourhood, but one never knows. We had had a wired security system before (about 20 years old) and b/c of some other changes we had done by Bell with our internet, we stopped the other service temporarily and first decided to interview a couple of home security places before going back with the old one.
We were impressed by the perfect reviews for Open Roads Systems, and the fact that it has a A+ rating on BBB.
Brad came out to assess, recommend, and to give a quote. Which was promptly done.
There were gaps in what we had before – unknowingly. One major extra that no one had ever suggested were new alerts cud be placed at the corners of the back of our house, plus by our back door, and by the back windows (which are all at ground level along our patio). And we were surprised to learn that we had had no protection in our basement. Nor on the top floor (bedrooms), and yet, there is a patio roof right beside that upper level that wud be easy to climb!!!
The revamping price and the extras were reasonable (and worth it). And the monthly rate will be less than half what we were paying before.
Brad came today with Tyrese. They were here for about 4 hours. They were quiet doing their work, methodical, and conscientious. Removed shoes without being asked.
On top of that, both men were so pleasant, genuine, and thoughtful. We trusted them 100% regardless of what room they were in.
They even checked our old smoke detectors without us asking, and advised us on what to buy at Home Depot, and they replaced it. We also now have a flood alert pad in our basement, too – a simple black square, easy to pick up and place anywhere.
At the end, they cleaned up carefully and they methodically tested everything in the security system. Brad patiently taught us how to work everything, too, and set up an app on my phone. We also have one pendant with an alarm button on it for one of us to wear when we are alone in the house. The new screen by the front door is sharp-looking and easy to use. A slick system overall. Very impressed.
Someone else had written that this company is a classic example of what great customer service is and we agree. So pleased!

p.s..Three or four days later, I was still a bit uncertain about the new screen. Sleek and simple, but change is hard. After the 3rd time I accidentally triggered the alarm (and cancelled it) Brad called on Saturday to patiently and kindly ask if he cud help. He reviewed it – easy! That was like the family doctors used to be when I was a young mother who wud call later to see how one of our kids were doing! Not that he hadn’t told me to call if any questions.
Last nite I dreamt or thought I heard running footsteps across our backyard. Uneasy for a bit. Then remembered the new sensors we had out back there and felt at ease bc no alarm had gone off. Nice feeling. Reassured then went right bacl to sleep..

Brad and Glen has done a wonderful job with our camera systems at our apartment buildings and residences. They are quick, respectful and neat especially working in tenanted areas. Open Road installed our security system when we moved into our office in 2021. The Connect2Go app informs me of all entry and exit events. The monitoring cost is quite reasonable. I recommend Open Road Systems.

These guys have been looking after the security needs for our 62 unit condo building for over 5 years. Glen and Brad installed a security system and cameras at our house, and we couldn’t be happier. Glen was able to advise us on a system to meet all of our needs, and Brad’s installation was very clean, and so quiet, our infant slept through the install! They walked us through all the features on our panel and how to access the system from our phones. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a security system.
